Evening Acceptance & Birthday Card

Two cards today, both made yesterday afternoon/evening. No crafting today as yet- have been into school doing some work ahead of the new term and also checking exam results! My pupils did very well- so pleased for them all!

Anyway, back to the cards :-)

The first one is an evening acceptance card for my friend's Ian and Vic, who are getting married mid September. I came across the backing paper at the card class I went to on Tuesday and knew I wanted to use it for this card when the invite arrive yesterday. The heart embossing folder is from craftsulove, and is made by Crafts Too. It just arrived in the post yesterday- perfect timing! The stamp on the right was a RAK from a friend on Crafts Beautiful forum. The swirly frame stamp is by My Paper World- £3.55 for a set of 10 different swirly silicone stamps- love them! Finally the heart pins (perfect colours to tie in with the backing paper) are from bunny zoes.

The second card is for Martin's sister's birthday. I've used a pyramage decoupage, that came from papercraft inspiration magazine a few issues ago. I've made it into an easel card and embellished with pearls and flowers and ribbon.

A woman should be two things...

...classy and fabulous!!

I came across this sheet of decoupage at Craftology at the weekend. It's another kanban sheet and comes with the backing paper used here too. I've added some organza ribbon across the card and as a bow, a couple of flowers, some pearls and some jute ribbon, which I am loving! The latter is from Bunny Zoe Crafts and a great bargain as far as i'm concerned.

Martin's Birthday Card (& a late Father's Day card)

Martin's mum and dad were on holiday last weekend, so we didn't get to see them until this weekend to celebrate Father's Day. David loves cruises, so that's the theme I went with this year. It's a simple kanban decoupage sheet, blinged up with some lovely embellishments.

The other card is for Martin's birthday, which is this coming Tuesday. The two images are stamps by The Greeting Farm.

Brother's Birthday Card

I've made this card for my brother's birthday, which is next Friday. The image is perfect- everyone should be able to kick back and relax on their birthday right?! The paper is dovecraft and I've used my crop-a-dile to attach them to AC Cardstock. The snaps are covered with stickles, as is the little duck and the spots on the mug. Since the card was silver, I didnt really want gold numbers and I seem to be out of silver ones! I used my promarkers to colour in gold peel off numbers- never tried to this before, but read about it recently in a magazine and it works really well! The word 'birthday at the bottom was a double sided sticker, which I have used blue flock on. A little blue flat backed pearl finishes it off.

Two cards to show off today-

The first is an acceptance card for our friend’s engagement party. It’s the first time i’ve tried to do a shaped easel card, rather than a square one. It’s just as easy and looks fab- in my opinion wink

The second is for another friend’s 30th birthday- he’s a big Atlanta Braves fan, so have gone with their team colours and a baseball image.

Yaay- I won...

I entered the card I made for Martin's mum for Mother's Day into a Challenge on the CB forum and WON :-) YAAY- can't wait for my prize to arrive- so exciting!! Scroll down to see the card and watch this space for a picture of what I've won.

Two makes this week- been quite busy with school stuff, so kept these relatively simple.

1st one- glittery Kanban image and sentiment, with some of my new Craftwork Cards red card candy and some black organza ribbon.

2nd one- little wooden box, altered using maroon paper, maroon and blue paper flowers, some flat backed pink pearls, nesties, stickles and some glittery lettering.

Charleston Tilda arrived today- such a gorgeous stamp! This card is for my friend Jan who is a 29th Feb baby, so is turning 9 1/2 this weekend! Paper is from my bargain 12 x 12 pack, the flower in the corner is from the new Marianne design dies.

Along with my tilda stamp, I got a martha stewart lace heart edge punch. I've kept the rest of this fairly simple, with a magnolia cupcake image, a best wishes sentiment and a glittery heart.

New goodies = new cards!!

Birthday Card

I made this card last night for my friend and colleague Pete- it's his birthday next week. The paper is from the £1 pack of 12 x 12s I bought in How2Designs January sale. The cuttlebug swirl embossed circle and the Edwin stamped image came from a RAK from one of the lovely ladies on the CB forum. The flowers are from craftsulove and the ribbon from my stash. The flower centre came from my friend Natalie and they are by Lolarose. Quite a simple and straight to the point card, but i like it!

In other news, the replacement C plate for my Cuttlebug arrived today, so I can begin to cut and emboss more of my new ribbon die! YAAY! I also ordered a new magnolia stamp and my first ever martha stewart punch- watch this space :-)

Mega Crafting day

I've managed to make 7 LMC kit cards today and a birthday card for Martin's auntie. I just need to find out if her birthday is 1st or the 2nd May and then it will be complete!

I was totally stuck as to where to start with this kit this morning, as I have to admit that I actually don’t really like flower fairies all that much (pause for horrified gasps from all readers- LOL) I am pleasantly suprised, however, at how they have all turned out and I am slowly coming round to them. I actually havent used the two little papers I like most (yet)- the sunflower and bee one and also the one with the red flowers and kneeling fairy. watch this space…

Neil's Birthday Card

My brother's birthday is coming up this month and this is the card I've made for him! He's a big golfer and golf fan so the image is perfect. I've also used my new calendar stamp, which I bought last week for 99p! The round sentiment came from a dovecrafts expressions set which cost £1 from madaboutcrafts. Some real bargain buys!

Thanks for looking!

Exploding box card

This is the first card like this that I've attempted and I'm pretty impressed with myself. I spent around 2 hours working on this two nights ago and a further hour last night.

The little magnolia Edwin on the lid is supposed to be my boyfriend with flowers for his mum (who the card/box is for!). He's not too amused that he has glitter in his hair and on his jeans, but I've explained that I've used crafter's license :-) The celebrate tag is from the recent CB magazine and it's held on with some lovely pink ribbon and embelished with little pearl hearts.

The inside is decorated with some family pics from the past year and a whole host of flowers, butterflies and the like. The papers are from the simply cards and paper craft magazine thats out just now. I've never bought it before, but saw they were giving a free book of valentines papers so thought i'd try it. What a bargain- there is heaps of free paper and a load of good ideas in the mag itself too!
