Card and papier mache letter

Martin’s auntie had to have her dog put down this afternoon. He hasn’t been very well over the past few weeks and we discovered at the end of last week that he had a number of tumours around his heart and other organs. The vet told her today that it was unfair to let him suffer anymore.

I’ve never had to go through anything like this, as I’ve never had a pet, but Martin and his auntie are clearly very upset.

I’ve made the attached card and keepsake for her so she knows we care and are thinking about her.
Thanks for looking!

Hobbycraft Fair at SECC

Had a fab day at the Hobbycraft Fair yesterday- it was manic though- never seen so many people clamouring to add to their craft collections before!!

Here are a few pictures of the things I bought- I managed to get most of the things I had on my list- stazon ink, a magnolia stamp with hearts and a Sugar Nellie Daisy stamp that i've had my eye on for ages, but couldn't find anywhere, A3 coloured card to make more 3D telephone cards, some jolly nation decoupage, a long acrylic stamp block, two packs of card blanks with envelopes thrown in for free, an embossing heat tool and silver embossing powder, pink and blue vellum and a 'payperbox' with a ton of A4 card and paper for next to no money at all!

Here is the first card made with these purchases!

Martin's Bake Off Tiffin

Martin's work are having a bake off tomorrow. I am so determined he's going to win. The box is a thorntons chocolate box that I've covered in gold star wrapping paper, it is filled with the most amazing homemade tiffin and then i've made a 'label' for the box so everyone knows it's his entry. Did i go a little overboard?! :-)

Thank You Cards

Got back from Tenerife last night. Dad is doing amaizingly well- got home from the hospital just 4 days after the op and, while he needs to take it easy, he's itching to get back to normality! Still waiting for pathology results and the like and the recovery process is still a long-ish one, but he's getting there and looking so well! Good old dad!

I've made these two cards today to send to two of my three best friends (I already had one made for the 3rd!) to say thanks for all their love and support over the past few months!

Exploding box card

This is the first card like this that I've attempted and I'm pretty impressed with myself. I spent around 2 hours working on this two nights ago and a further hour last night.

The little magnolia Edwin on the lid is supposed to be my boyfriend with flowers for his mum (who the card/box is for!). He's not too amused that he has glitter in his hair and on his jeans, but I've explained that I've used crafter's license :-) The celebrate tag is from the recent CB magazine and it's held on with some lovely pink ribbon and embelished with little pearl hearts.

The inside is decorated with some family pics from the past year and a whole host of flowers, butterflies and the like. The papers are from the simply cards and paper craft magazine thats out just now. I've never bought it before, but saw they were giving a free book of valentines papers so thought i'd try it. What a bargain- there is heaps of free paper and a load of good ideas in the mag itself too!

Could this be anymore pink??...

Absolutely LOVE this!!! My second card made using the stamped images I got on ebay- this time coloured in using a skin coloured pencil I picked up in Hobbycraft this morning! I also bought the big flowers and the pearl brads, amongst other things!

A few Friday makes

Now that school is done for Christmas, I was at last able to do some card making, without worrying about marking, preparing for parents evenings, or the Auschwitz evening, or attending the school show... Martin was out tonight for his work's Christmas meal, so...

here are a few of my Friday night makes...

The first is made using one of the many hand stamped images I bought from ebay this week, coloured in with my new brush markers and with a bit of ribbon (came with some flowers i received a few weeks ago- it actually has john lewis stamped all over the back of it- a great credit crunch way of reusing things you'd routinely think were unusable) and a new prima flower addition. The character needs to be coloured in, but i'm finding it hard to find something that will allow me to do a skin colour:

This card was made using the LMC kit- it's a slight variation on a design in the magazine. I've had some good feedback on it and I'm impressed I managed to get the swirls cut so well, as I dont have a cuttlebug or anything to do this for me, but it still isnt quite right!:

I like the simplicity of this card, but may well add a sentiment before I send it to whoever it ends up going to:

This card is also made using the LMC kit and the heart peel offs that came this week. I love the way it has turned out!
