Christmas- LMC Issue 35

This Let's make Cards magazine is the last in my subscription and I absolutely LOVE this pack! For the first time ever, I've really been able to use everything in it- usually there are a few papers or embellishments that I don't like/ would never need to use! I've managed to make 13 cards out of this one kit already and still have some bits and bobs left for me (I've even used the white packaging card and two card blanks from a previous LMC!) Definitely worth the money this month.

A couple of Kanban and some LMC cards

These first two cards were super fast to make- they are two kanban decoupage sheets that I have had kicking around for ages waiting to be used. All they needed was putting together with some pads and a bit of ribbon on the blue one around the waist to hold the tag on.

This next one is from the LMC Paddington Bear kit. I know it has nothing to do with PB, but it's the only one I felt inspired to make with this kit. I've passed the rest on to one of the girls on the CB forum.
The remainder of these are from the current LMC kit- I'm so pleased they have a normal theme this month, rather than the character packs of late. I really like how these have turned out.

Mega Crafting day

I've managed to make 7 LMC kit cards today and a birthday card for Martin's auntie. I just need to find out if her birthday is 1st or the 2nd May and then it will be complete!

I was totally stuck as to where to start with this kit this morning, as I have to admit that I actually don’t really like flower fairies all that much (pause for horrified gasps from all readers- LOL) I am pleasantly suprised, however, at how they have all turned out and I am slowly coming round to them. I actually havent used the two little papers I like most (yet)- the sunflower and bee one and also the one with the red flowers and kneeling fairy. watch this space…

LMC21 Challenge Win

I found out on Monday that I had won the LMC Challenge for issue 21, over on the CB forum.

My prize arrived today and it is AMAZING!! So many fab things- great hearts stamps and a punch and I'm super intrigued by the quick yo-yo maker! I'm gonna have a lot of fun with this.

Here is a picture of my prize and the card that did it for me :-)

New cards and super exciting news...

Here are some of this week's makes! I've had a bit more time on my hands in the evening this week, because my S4-6 pupils are on prelim leave so i've been getting more done in school. These are mostly cards made from the LMC21 kit, but there is also a quick and simple card made with little roses in here. One of the LMC kit cards, includes two stamped hearts from papercraft inspirations magazine.

Also coloured in a few stamped images tonight, ready to be made into cards. My cousin was due to give birth yesterday, but is now overdue. I've coloured a tilda with baby image, with the exception of the colour of the baby's clothes. I havent made the card it'll go on yet either though, as I don't know colour to go with! Watch this space for the news and results!

As for the SUPER EXCITING NEWS! I've just found out that I won Debby's amazing blog candy!! I'm OVER THE MOON!!

A few Friday makes

Now that school is done for Christmas, I was at last able to do some card making, without worrying about marking, preparing for parents evenings, or the Auschwitz evening, or attending the school show... Martin was out tonight for his work's Christmas meal, so...

here are a few of my Friday night makes...

The first is made using one of the many hand stamped images I bought from ebay this week, coloured in with my new brush markers and with a bit of ribbon (came with some flowers i received a few weeks ago- it actually has john lewis stamped all over the back of it- a great credit crunch way of reusing things you'd routinely think were unusable) and a new prima flower addition. The character needs to be coloured in, but i'm finding it hard to find something that will allow me to do a skin colour:

This card was made using the LMC kit- it's a slight variation on a design in the magazine. I've had some good feedback on it and I'm impressed I managed to get the swirls cut so well, as I dont have a cuttlebug or anything to do this for me, but it still isnt quite right!:

I like the simplicity of this card, but may well add a sentiment before I send it to whoever it ends up going to:

This card is also made using the LMC kit and the heart peel offs that came this week. I love the way it has turned out!
